Tennesseans Navigate Muddy Conditions At National Meets

Four Straight Days

While a couple of inches made a mess of things closer to home, in Portland it started raining on Wednesday and has not stopped since causing complete pooling on the course at Glendeveer.

Webb's Colin Eckerman, who was an At-Large selection, beat three of the runners from the Southeast Regional who received automatic bids and placed 25th overall finishing in 15:38. According to our records, this is the 5th highest finish for any Tennessee Boy at this competition. Eckerman will race again next weekend in San Diego.

The Montgomery Bell Academy Boys might have been the youngest team in the field in Portland. Of the 201 finishers on Saturday, only eight of them were freshman and two of those freshmen ran for the Big Red.  Jack Wallace led the way with a 55th finish for team standings with youngest runners on the team, JP Newman and Gabe Guillamondegui running 2 and 3 for MBA. Seniors Samuel Trumble and Mitchell Chaffin rounded out the scoring securing a 21st overall team finish. With Charlie Warner and Jack Farringer as juniors, the team will mostly remain in tact heading into next season.

Congratulations to all runners who raced yesterday and good luck to those four who will be heading to San Diego this weekend.
