Cheeseman Could Dominate the South

Currently ranked at No. 4 in the nation by MileSplit, Abby Faith Cheeseman certainly has her sights set on a national title this season.

After her Great American win in early October, the junior was already looking ahead to regionals and nationals, noting the course as "great preparation for the postseason."

Instead of dialing down on entering more competitive races, Cheeseman dialed down on the number of races she participated, maxing out her regular season to only two races. The Tennessee phenom has only ran four races this season, including state regionals and finals.

Since her PR of 16:27 in September, the junior has dipped under 17 twice more, her second-fastest time unfolding at the TSSAA state three weeks ago where collected her fourth consecutive state cross country title.

Last year as a sophomore, Cheeseman placed seventh at South regionals and fourth at nationals.

With Cheeseman's tenacity a highlight this season, nothing has seemed to get in her way.
