Since it's inception in 2020, the RunningLane Cross Country Championships have played host to the greatest high school performances in the sport's history.

In 2020, it was Cherry Creek's Parker Wolfe who led an incredible 32 boys under 15:00 and won the inaugural title in 14:26.9.

The next year was pure history. In the fastest high school cross country race of all-time, the Newbury Park dynasty added another unprecedented feat to their resume, as Colin Sahlman, Leo Young and Lex Young ran 14:03.2, 14:05.0 and 14:05.4 -- the three fastest times in American history.

Just for kicks, Niwot's Zane Bergen also dipped under the previous record last set by Dathan Ritzenhein (14:10) in 2000. After the dust settled, 73 boys broke 15:00 in the same race and in total, 78 boys broke the coveted barrier.
