AAU Throwback: Patricio Pardo Takes On Thrilling 3K

WATCH LIVE: THE AAU JUNIOR OLYMPIC GAMES

AIRS FROM JULY 29 - AUGUST 5

One of the highlights from the 2022 AAU Junior Olympic Games was the 11-year-old 3K final.

The race consisted of Maryland's Patricio Pardo and California's Victor Jaimez-Solorio, a multi-AAU Junior Olympic champion.

Pardo and Jaimez-Solorio took turns taking the lead but with 600m to go, Pardo made a huge surge to add separation between him and the California star.

Pardo took down a 19 year-old national AAU Junior Olympic record of 9:55.22 with a 9:48.00. Jaimez-Solorio clocked 10:14.00 for second while Thomas Kim was third in 10:25.73.
