EUGENE -- On Friday, Mia Brahe-Pedersen did everything she needed to do to book her ticket into the USATF Outdoor Championship final in the 100m as a 17-year-old.

Didn't matter that she was the last qualifier in the semifinals with an 11.09.

The Lake Oswego (OR) High School junior and recent NIL athlete performed when the stakes were the highest.

"This experience was huge for me because not only did it show me what my future could look like as I watch these older girls succeed, but it taught me what I needed to work on," Brahe-Pedersen said after her semifinal.

Friday night, she finished seventh in the final with an 11.08.

After team processing, that will likely result in Brahe-Pedersen's appearance in a U.S. uniform, possibly even at the World Championships in Budapest. Her goal before entering the USA Outdoor Championships was to qualify for the NACAC U23 Championships.

But maybe the Oregon teenager did herself one better.

"This is the biggest meet I've ever been to and I've learned so much," Brahe-Pedersen said. "I got so much better from losing and that's huge."

Sha'Carri Richardson won the title in 10.82 while Brittany Brown was the runner up in 10.90 and Tamari Davis rounded out the top finish in 10.99.
