The 1,500m and 3,000m distances are not run in every state, but in some, like New York and Oregon, they are championship events. In Iowa, the 1,500m is the championship girls event. 

Ballard (IA) senior Paityn Noe currently leads the U.S. in a combined time of 14:09.38 for the two events.

Noe is committed to the University of Arkansas and has been a stud cross-country runner over her four-year career in Iowa. She has won the past two Iowa Class 3A state titles and was runner-up as a sophomore and she took the bronze medal as a freshman. In addition to winning the state cross country title this year, she also finished third at the Champs National Cross Country Championships.

Saratoga Springs (NY) High School boasts two of the top five runners in the nation in senior McKinley Wheeler and junior Emily Bush. Miller is committed to Iowa State University and owns the fastest 1,500m time (4:29.78...
