Twanisha Terry, fresh off a 100 meter win at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix in April, will have her work cut out for her on Saturday when she meets Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce at the Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi.
For Fraser-Pryce, 36, it will be the reigning World 100m champion's first outdoor race of the season.
But for Terry, 24, who is one of the U.S.'s top young sprint talents and a '17 alumni of Miami Northwestern, she will enter the distance with three performances, including times of 10.83 in Miami, 11.05 in Botswana and 11.07 in Doha during a Diamond League 100m on May 5.
But that's not the only matchup to keep an eye on in Nairobi.
Sha'carri Richardson, 23, a 2018 Dallas Carter (TX) graduate who currently sports the World lead in the 100m with her time of 10.76 (+0.9) from a Diamond League meet in March in Doha, will venture over to the 200m.
Last year, Fraser-Pryce, a five-time World Champion, ran 10.67 in her first race at the Kip Keino Classic.
"I am feeling good, to be honest" Fraser-Pryce told World Athletics in an interview on Tuesday at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. "But not two years are the same. Whatever you correct in training, or whatever you are working on, if you come and execute all those things, it will all come together. I hope to build on the moments and experiences that I had last year, into this year."
Also in the women's 100m will be the U.S.'s Teahna Daniels.
In the men's field, Ferdinan Omanyala will go up against World 200m silver-medalist Kenny Bednarek, who was third at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix recently.
Marvin Bracy-Williams will also be in the field, along with Canada's Jerome Blake.
