With the indoor track season wrapping up and the outdoor track season in full swing in nearly every state it is time for an analysis between both seasons. 

We wanted to specifically look at the current crop of 100m leaders, and how their ability has translated over from the 60m indoor distance. 

There are numerous boys that appear on both lists and unsurprisingly, the top ones are from the Southeast or Texas. 


Carlmelo Martin, a senior from Boiling Springs, South Carolina and an East Carolina signee, won the Nike Indoor Nationals 60m title. Two weeks later, he ran a wind-legal 10.37 in the 100m at his first outdoor meet of the season.

He took a third-place finish at the state championships in the 100m last year. Another South Carolina sprinter, Nigel Ancrum of Spring Valley, has run 10.29 in the 100m which is U.S. No. 3 this year after posting a time of 6.75 in his only 60m ...
