* Abdoul Sy-Savane chats with MileSplit after his performances at Eastern Indoors

With a stronger focus on the hurdles this indoor season, two things have happened for Abdoul Sy-Savane.
The first: He's broken 8 seconds for the first time in his career.
The second: He's now among the top athletes in the country for the discipline, and he's currently ranked U.S. No. 3 for 60mH.
Why is that important? As we looked at the top year-over-year improvements in the hurdles from 2022 to 2023, Sy-Savane comes up big: He's chopped off a total of 0.33 seconds from his previous best of 8.11 from 2022, which places him among the top 300 most improved athletes this indoor season.
His season isn't over yet, either.
With the national championship season fast arriving in March, the hurdler from Georgia will have a chance to earn a coveted national title.
