Highly-touted football and track prospect Nyckoles Harbor announced his long-awaited commitment to the University of South Carolina on Wednesday afternoon.

In front of family, friends and media cameras on football National Signing Day, Harbor landed on South Carolina from a list of potential destinations that included Michigan, Maryland, USC and Oregon.

At 6-5 and 225 pounds, Harbor is the top-ranked athlete on 247sports' class of 2023 football recruiting list and 15th best overall prospect in the current senior class.

The Archbishop Carroll (DC) senior is also ranked as the eighth-best track and field recruit on the MileSplit class of 2023 recruiting list.

Previously, Harbor has said that he plans on competing in both sports as he enters college this fall.

On the track, Harbor is an all-time talent in the sprints and holds the fifth-best time in high school history of 20.76 in the indoor 200m. He currently owns the nation's top marks in the 200m and 300m and the No. 2 time in the 60m.

Harbor's 60m time of 6.64 ties for 12th all-time in the high school indoor track and field record books.

Harbor returns to the outdoor track this spring as the third-fastest returner in the 100m at 10.22 and the seventh-best at the 200m with a 20.95 mark.

But off the track, Harbor also has quite the dominant resume as one of the country's most promising football prospects.

During the fall football season for Archbishop Carroll, Harbor split time on both sides of the ball, amassing 45 tackles, 5.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries as a defensive end and catching 15 passes for 439 yards and five touchdowns at tight end.

He garnered prestigious accolades in his senior season on the field, including Gatorade Player Of The Year for the District of Columbia and a spot in the Under Armour All-America game held in Hawaii in January.

Harbor joins a Gamecock athletic program that boasts the 16th-ranked 2023 football recruiting class in the nation, according to ESPN. In 2022, the football program posted an 8-5 outing for its best record since the 2017 season.

The South Carolina track and field program adds Harbor to a list of notable signings for the class of 2023, including MileSplit's ninth-ranked girls recruit JaMeesia Ford of Jack Britt (NC).
