WATCH LIVE: MANHATTAN COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

In New York this weekend, the Manhattan College Cross Country Invitational will take place at Van Cortlandt Park. In its 50th year of running, it's been the home to many top performances from the northeast.

Last year as a junior, Karrie Baloga of Cornwall (NY) became the show stopper in the Eastern Championships race when she ran across the finish line to stop the clock at 14:11 for 2.50 miles. About 20-seconds behind her was Zariel Macchia of William Floyd (FL) who finished the race in 14:33 as a freshman.

Entering this year's invitational, Baloga and Macchia will return as the top returners. They will also face Cicero-North Syracuse (NY), including its No. 1 runner Kate Putman who can challenge them for the title. The last time Putman competed at this meet was back in 2019 when she clocked a 14:51 for 4K in the Varsity C race.

According to the MileSplit database, there are only seven girls who broke 14 minutes for 4K at the Manhattan College Cross Country Invitational. Will any girls this year add their names to the list?
