Bishop Loughlin Games:

Boys: John Thomas, Sheepshead Bay, (Photo Courtesy of ArmoryTrack.com) produced two national ranked performances with a US#1 33.95 in the 300 meter dash and a US#3 6.40 in the 55 meter dash.  Teammate Rolyce Boston won the long jump with a US#2 22-09 performance.  Otis Ubriaco, Burnt Hills, pushed the pace in the 3200 meter run and took over the US#1 spot with a time of 9:22.28.  Cory Duggan, Monsignor Farrell, posted an impressive win in the pole vault with a US#2 15-00.      

 

Girls: Medgar Evars electrified the crowd with a meet record performance in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:41.24.  They led from the gun and extended their lead with every pass of the baton.  Chamique Francis, Cardoza, went US#1 38.52 in the 300 meter dash to record the #12 All-Time performance in the event.  Jen Clayton, Suffern, won the long jump with a US#1 jump of 19-02.75.  Phyllis Francis, McAuley, won the 600 meter dash out of a slow heat with a US#1 time of 1:34.03.  Roxanne Henningson, Greenwich, won the 3200 meter run with a strong US#4 10:51.88.  Mary Kate Anselmini, Ward Melville, won the one mile run with a US#1 time of 4:58.28.  Kelly Burke, Cranford, took the pole vault with a US#3 vault of 11-06.  Full meet recap here.

Bishop Hendricken is rolling indoors, putting their XC conditioning to good use.  At the RITCA High School Invite in Providence, RI, four Hendricken runners went under 9 minutes for 3000 meters.  They also all now rank US#1-4 in the event.  Jake Sienko won with a new meet record and US#1 time of 8:39.70, smashing the old mark of 8:51.2h by Mike Pieroni.  Brian Doyle was also under the old record with a US#2 time of 8:47.60.  Michael MacKenzie was 3rd with a US#3 time of 8:54.70 and Ryan Meehan was 4th in a US#4 time of 8:55.10.  

 

The pole vault competition is heating up early as three girls were over 11-6 and a 16-6 was recorded on the boys side.  Anna Bales, WY, went 11-6.25 and briefly held US#1 until Lauren McFarland, TX, recorded a vault of 12-00 to take over the #1 spot.   Kelly Burke, NY, is US#3 at 11-6.  Mark Thomas, TX, recorded a personal best vault of 16-6 to take the #1 spot in the US, winning his competition by 1.5 feet over Regan Gilbert, 15-00.  Full Results coming...

 

Update: Nick Vena set the Junior Class Record at the Gardiner Relays today with a heave of 67-8.25.  With that throw Vena now owns the Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Class Recrods.  Vena took down the 40 year old mark of 67-0 set by Jesse Stewart, Glasgow KY, back in 1969.  At the O'Leary Lid-Lifter in New Jersey on Thursday, Nick Vena, Morristown, put up a US#1 66-09.75 shot put to narrowly miss the national junior class record of 67-0.  Full Results

 

At the New Haven Invite Tyler Murphy, Wethesfield, claimed US#1 with his 47-0 triple jump victory.  Keron Stoute, Manchester, also put up a US#1 mark with his 6-10 high jump.  Lindsay Crevoiserat, Glastonbury, went 10:51.54 in the 3200 meter run for US#3.  Full Results

 

At the New Hampshire Indoor League Meet #1 Dominic Filiano, Lebanon, won the shot put with a US#2 throw of 59-3.50.  Full Results

 

At the Southern Connecticut Conference Developmental Meet #1 Chris Fitzsimons, Hamden, won the 1000 meter dash with a US#2 time of 2:33.46.  Matthew Jeune, Notre Dame, won the high jump with a US#2 performance of 6-8.  Full Results
 

At the New England Catholic Invite Francis Hernandez, Bishop Guertin, won the 2 mile run with a time of 9:33.42, with two teammates within 3 seconds of him.  Molly Keating, LaSalle Academy, won the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:02.99.  Full Results

 

At the New Hampshire Indoor League Meet #1 Arianna Vailas ran a US#3 time of 10:30.80 in the 3000 meter run.  Full Results

In Pennslvania, at the Hill School Invitational, Carlton Lavong, Methacton, went 6.59 to win the 55 meter dash.  Full Results

 

At the IAAM League Meet #2 in Maryland Kristin Brown, McDonogh School, ran a 8.16 for the 55 hurdles and Lacey Shuman, Maryvale Prep, went 5-10 in the high jump.  Full Results

 

At the Frederick/Washington County #2 Stephanie Bryan, Gov. Thomas Johnson, ran an impressive 5:08/11:09 double for 1600 meters and 3200 meters.  Teammate Erick Artusio cleared 14-6 in the pole vault to claim victory.  Justin Bowie, Williamsport, ran a quick 7.61 55 hurdles to win.  Full Results
