No. 21: Jacob Nenow

- - -

School: Jesuit (OR)

Year: Senior, Class of 2023

2021-22 Notable Finishes: 19th at RunningLane Cross Country Championships in 14:35.98; Fourth at OSAA 6A State Cross Country Championships with a time of 15:09.80.

Analysis: Nenow comes in as a top 10 returner at the 5k distance thanks to his 14:35.98 performance at RunningLane in 2021 ranking him among the best individuals in the country last fall. That breakout performance made for a 19th-place finish and third time ever under 15 minutes, showing that Nenow certainly belongs in the conversation on the nation's best boys long distance runners.

But beyond the hunt for individual success, Nenow is a part of a Jesuit squad that will be in the hunt for a team national title this year. He lead his team to an Oregon 6A state title last fall, and Nenow could help put them in contention for a national team title in his final year of racing for them.

Nenow also put down times of 4:15.11 in the mile and 8:16.45 for 3,000m during the track season to close out his junior year of racing. Now, Nenow will be looking to close out his high school cross country career as both a top finisher at nationals as an individual and potentially national champion on the team side with his Jesuit teammates.
