*Kailey Littlefield debuts in the 800m at the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic

In her first indoor meet of her career, Kailey Littlefield of Lucas Lovejoy (TX) executed a strong 800m performance at the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic this weekend.
Last year's 5A UIL 800m state champion lined up against a stiff field and took control of the race after 400m. From that point forward, it was her against the clock.
Littlefield crossed the finish line in 2:12.68 for the title. The sophomore lowered Krianne McBride's meet record from two years ago by nearly three seconds.
Littlefield's race this weekend moved her up to US No. 3 in the event behind Sophia Gorriaran's 2:04.07 and Micah Trusty's 2:10.28.
When Littlefield was a freshman, she ran a 2:08.04 personal best at the UIL 5A Outdoor Track and Field State Championships.
