We look to see which sophomore boys and girls have run the fastest so far this season.
The season is still young but we're already seeing some eye-opening performances from some younger athletes. One of those performances is from Joliet West High Schools (IL) Marcellus Mines. The sophomore ran 15:05.00 at the 49th Annual Rich Dust Invitational on September, 4th.
The fastest sophomore girls 5K time in the nation right now comes from the Marion Invitational. Delta High School's (IN) Nicki Southerland won the invitational running 17:28.20. In total there are seven sophomore girls who have run sub-18-minutes for 5K so far this season.
