California MileSplit correspondent Kevin Selby visited Big Bear in July to sit down with the Newbury Park boys' and girls' cross country programs as they focused on offseason training ahead of the fall season. He spoke with Newbury Park rising senior Colin Sahlman, who is coming off an incredible track and field season where he scorched the track with times of 1:53.20 in the 800m, 3:46.39 in the 1,500m, 4:04.86 in the mile and 8:43.42 in the 3,200m. Sahlman's hopes are now on to cross country, where he and his Panthers squad have an opportunity to claim a national title -- along with a possible individual win, too.
