To say that the Furman University women are a rising distance program would be an inaccurate statement.

Over the past few years, the Paladins have established themselves as one of the NCAA's premiere distance running teams, consistently earning national qualifying bids and posting top 10 finishes at the NCAA Championships. 

Part of that can be attributed to excellent aerobic development and thoughtful training approaches.

But the other part? Well, that can be attributed to incredible recruiting.

Women's coach Rita Gary has been a phenomenal recruiter over the past few years, landing even more top high school talents as of late. In fact, if you look at the Paladins most recent NCAA XC Championship women's lineup, the team's varsity seven consisted of six freshmen and one sophomore.
