Let's talk about Nick Plant for a second.
It's been a breakthrough spring season for the Canfield (OH) High School junior, who secured Ohio's third-best 800m performance of all-time at the state championships in June, dropping a US No. 4 time of 1:49.79.
Not only was that effort his first under 1:50, but it was also the country's top junior time and the class's No. 24 time ever.
Consider beyond that, though, just how much he's improved since his freshman season. Just how much you ask?
Plant ran a freshman PR of 2:03.23 two years ago. That was the No. 252 ranked performance for the freshman class in 2019.
His improvement is a cracking 13.44 seconds across two seasons.
