WATCH: Hutchins Run 9:52.33 In 3200m At Dash For Doobie

In her second meet of the season, Science Hill High School's (TN) Jenna Hutchins put on a show. The junior took control of the 3200m at the New Balance Dash for Doobie from the gun and never looked back.

She went through the 800m mark in 2:25, the 1600m mark in 4:53, and closed the last 400m in around 1:11 to finish with a 9:52.33. Her time ranks US No. 1 for the 2021 outdoor season.

The time isn't a PR for Hutchins as she ran 9:49.83 at the 2020 Music City Distance Carnival, but according to the MileSplit database, it does look to be the US No. 7 all-time mark for the outdoor 3200m.

This is the second big meet for Hutchins as earlier this season at the Matt Newton Track KickoffHutchins clocked a 4:44.13 in the 1600m and a 2:19.66 in the 800m.

In late 2020 at the Five and Dime Athletics Meeting Hutchins set the high school 5K national record running 15:34.47.

Rounding out the top three in the girls 3200m at the New Balance Dash for Doobie were Pinecrest High School's (NC) Carmen Alder and Cambridge (Christian) School's (FL) Mary Ellen Eudaly. Alder posted a big US No. 2 performance running 10:07.41 to finish second while Ellen Eudaly also ran a new PR of 10:17.36. Her time ranks US No. 6.
