Leading the way with the fastest girls 5K of the week is Lakeland Regional (NJ) High School's Angelina Perez. The junior clocked a 16:56.00 at the Big North Invitational. Perez ran just .90 seconds faster ran NC State commit Brooke Rauber. Rauber, a senior at Tully (NY) High School ran 16:56.90 in her first cross country race of the season at the Section 3 Duals Week 1.
The fastest guy over the 5K distance this past week was Hartland's (MI) Riley Hough. The junior ran a 14:48.40 Plymouth/Hartland @ Salem tri-meet. Anchorage Christian (AK) High School's Tristian Merchant had the second fasts time of the weekend clocking a 14:51.00 to win the Alaska State Championships.
