On Thursday, NCAA President Mark Emmert officially announced that fall NCAA Championships at the Division I level would be canceled for the fall sports season now that over 50-percent of teams have opted out (there is potential for the fall championships to be moved to the spring, but that's a different story).
Various conferences -- specifically those at the Division I level -- have recently announced an onslaught of cancellations for fall sports this year. But this was sparked by initial decisions from the BIG 10 and PAC-12 on Tuesday -- two of the NCAA's largest and most influential conferences.
Other conferences that followed in the BIG 10 and PAC-12's decision included the BIG East, BIG Sky, West Coast Conference and numerous others. The list is growing at an exhausting rate.
