The U.S. Air Force Academy men had one of the more competitive cross country teams in the NCAA just a few years ago. In 2017, the Falcons finished 15th at the national championships and returned the following year with a 20th place finish.
However, the 2019 cross country season was a rebuilding year. They had lost numerous varsity runners over the years and were still looking to develop many of their younger athletes into reliable top seven scorers.
Despite a somewhat quiet year on the distance side of things, the Colorado-based program still has plenty to be excited about -- mainly because of their incoming recruits.
