We're diving into a new series looking at the top all-time combined athletes in throws, hurdles, distance, sprints, and jumps. Today we're looking at the top combined all-time hurdlers.
There are two athletes who stick out above the rest when it comes to hurdling. On the girl's side, it's Union Catholic Reg. High School's Sydney McLaughlin. McLaughlin is undisputedly the best high school 300m and 400m hurdler of all-time. She holds the top 300mH time all-time with her 38.90 and eight of the top ten all-time 400mH times including the national record time of 53.82 which she ran at the USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 2017.
The top guys combined hurdler is 2008 Copperas Cove (TX) graduate Robert Griffin. In 2007 Griffin ran 13.64 in the 110mH and 49.56 in the 400mH at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. His 49.56 in the is the second-fastest 400mH time of all-time while he also holds the fifth-fastest 300mH time of all-time with his 35.33 from the 2007 UIL Track Championships.
