7. Portsmouth's Girls Lay The Groundwork, Win The 4x800
This race -- a winning time of 9:24.51 -- was important for the Portsmouth High School girls for a lot of reasons. For starters, it was a massive improvement from the team's last effort, a 10-second clipping off their previous best that season. But it also led to a more fruitful showing down the line, as the team went on to finish fourth at New Balance Nationals Indoor in 9:12.34, a US No. 7 mark. This effort at the Yale Track Classic would have been good enough to claim a US No. 30 mark.
