Beyond The No. 1: The Nation's Best Two Though Five Runners

We used our XC team scores calculator to see which teams have the best 2-5 athletes. Taking out the number one guy on each team the guys from Great Oak (CA) rank number one in the nation. Scoring the teams 2-6 runners they still hold a 15:22.76 five-man 5K average and have a 1-5 split of 18.70. 

If you look at the teams that have only run 3-miles so far this season Newbury Park High School (CA) leads the way. The team's number one guy becomes Jace Aschbrenner who ran 14:04.80 at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic. The team as a whole holds a 14:26.28 3-mile five-man average and a 1-5 split of 32.60 when scoring their 2-6 runners.
