"It's definitely a goal of mine." -- Taryn Parks on hopes of going after the 1-mile national record

- - -

On Episode 14 of MileSplit's On The Line podcast, Cory Mull chats with Greencastle-Antrim's Taryn Parks ahead of the Brooks PR Invitational, where the high school junior hopes to go for another national title. Parks is coming off her third straight PIAA Class AAA Championship in the 1,600 meter run, where she went a US No. 1 time of 4:37.07. Previously, Parks also won the New Balance Nationals Indoor 1-mile and has developed into a powerhouse threat in the 800m-1600m.

Parks is the No. 13 track and field recruit in the Class of 2020 and she's currently No. 17 on the MileSplit50, a ranking of the top overall athletes of this current season. She'll be a big commodity on the open recruiting market and will command a litany of Division I offers of her choosing.
