Omar McBride (Apex) had a major moment in his final home meet of the Apex Relays. In the 2nd ever Apex Lions' Relays in 1980 Mike Ripberger of Cary jumped 6-10. That meet record stood for 39 years until McBride was able to better is yesterday. On his third attempt, he was able to clear the bar by a wide margin to break the longest standing record in Apex Relays history. Certainly, a special moment for McBride and his Apex coaches and teammates to see this record fall by one of their own.
