The American U20 squad was sixth overall with 154 points, the highest overall place for any USA team at the World Championships.

Ping, meanwhile, was 60th overall in 23:45 for 6K, while Katy Cinco Ranch's (TX) Heidi Nielson was 74th in 24:13.

The athletes navigated an extremely difficult, lapped 2K course in Denmark which featured various hills, mud, water pits and varying cross country conditions.
