Throwback Thursday: Eduardo Herrera Runs 8:15 3K At Stanford


As a senior at Madera South (CA) High School, Eduardo Herrera ran an 8:15.01 to win the 3000m at the 2016 Stanford InvitationalHerrera's time broke the Stanford Invitational record for the high school boys 3000m run and ranked him No. 7 all time in the state of California.

He also went on to win the boys mile in a meet record time of 4:11.41 the next day. Herrera is now in his junior year at the University of Colorado. 

Placing second in the 3000m and mile race that year was Cody (WY) High School's Brody Smith, who is now in his junior year at Purdue University. Smith ran 8:19.04 for second place in the 3000m and 4:12.81 in the mile.
