2. Be On The Lookout For Piper Freshman Aaliyah Butler, Who Showed Flashes In The 400
- - -Piper High School welcomed a talented freshman into its ranks in 2019.
And that was no other than Aaliyah Butler, who breezed toward a big win in the 400m on Saturday in 53.44.
In any given year would stand up as an impressive time across the country, but in February stood as Florida's, and the nation's, No. 1 time.
Butler enters the high school scene just as the state's No. 1 runner, Jan'Taijah Ford, is finishing up her final year of high school. Ford is coming off a year in 2018 where she won the 400m at Brooks PR and scored her second state title in Class 3A.
