FDR High School's (NY) Sarah Trainor improved by almost 10 seconds from 2017 to 2018 in the 800m run. In 2017 she ran 2:20.99 to win the MHAL Championships. This year she dropped a 2:11.00 to place fourth in the NYSPHSAA (NY) State Championship meet. Trainor will be a junior in the fall.
Caitlin Collier, who holds the nation's fastest 800m time of
2:00.85, improved by almost three seconds from 2017 to 2018. Collier ran 2:03.32 in 2017 but dropped her time 2.47 seconds to become one of the best all-time high school 800m runners.
