2018 Will Be A Big Year For The Girls Triple Jump

This year there are more girls than in recent years who have jumped over 40 feet in the triple jump heading into the 2018 outdoor season. That number is 30 to be exact--30 girls returning who have jumped over 40-0 in the triple jump and six who have jumped over 42-0.

Leading the charge this season and setting records as she goes is Mansfield Lake Ridge's (TX) Jasmine Moore. Moore jumped 43-7.25 last year to win New Balance Nationals Outdoor. This year she claimed another triple jump national title indoors by jumping a new junior class record of 42-11.75, beating her previous record of 42-9.5 from earlier in the season at the Texas Tech Under Armour High School Classic. Moore was also the leader coming into the 2017 season with a jump of 43-5.75.
