Tyler Lee's Branson Ellis won the 2017 Jesuit-Sheaner Relays pole vault and the Texas Class 6A UIL state title

The Jesuit-Sheaner Relays is one of the premier regular season events in the state of Texas. A win here could mean you're on track to potentially win a state title. In recent years, some of the biggest names to compete at Jesuit-Sheaner have gone on to claim state titles.

Keller Fossil Ridge's (TX) Sean Hooper is a perfect example. Last year, he won the 200m dash in 21.31, which set a precedent for him to go on and win the Class 5A state title in 20.98 (+0.9).

On the girls side, Zada Swoops, a  Whitewright (TX) graduate, won both the shot put and discus and then went on to claim the Class 3A state shot put and discus titles.

This history of greatness at the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays goes back further than just last year, though. In 2010, Kenneth Minkah of DeSoto had the fastest prelim time and ended up winning the Class 5A state 110mH title later that year in 13.62.
