The Top 8 Events To Watch At The Yale Track Classic

* Lydia Olivere's win in the girls mile at the Bishop Loughlin Games in 4:55.72

Girls 3000m (Seeded Section)

When: Saturday, January 20

Time: 11:48 a.m.

The Skinny: The talented section includes Shoreham-Wading River (NY) High senior Katherine Lee, a Georgetown University signee who finished fourth at Foot Locker Nationals in December. She ran 5:01.08 in the full. Mile on Jan. 6 at the U.S. Army Hispanic Games and now will look to drop a sub-10 performance here at Cox Cage. But she'll also find some tough competition from Padua Academy (DE) High senior Lydia Olivere, a Villanova recruit who finished 26th at NXN. The standout scored a 4:55 full mile at the Bishop Loughlin games and likely presents Lee with her best competition.

Three others, though, enter the race having seed times at 10:11 or faster, including Shenendehowa (NY) senior Olivia Lomascolo, who scored a 10:00.98 in the 3K over the outdoor season. Milford (NH) High's Rebecca Durham, who's also entered in the mile, will look to stick with the top pack, while Pearl River (NY) junior Mary Borkoski is a sleeper to throw in a great performance as well.
