FSU Relays: Deep boys 3200 with 6 at 9:15 and faster!

An outstanding 3200 meter race was held Friday at the FSU Relays. Nike Indoor Nationals mile runner-up Patrick McGregor from Hoover, Alabama was looked upon as one of the pre-race favorites, but McGregor ended up severall in the race with a time of 9:20.19 as the unheralded Florida boys stole the show in their exhibition of great depth. Derek Wehunt of Sickles had a great closing kick in the final 300 meter run to win in a US #4 time of 9:06.78. Leon's Matt Mizereck followed in as runner-up in a US #5 time of 9:09.24. Colin Barker (3rd, 9:11.20), Connor Revord (4th, 9:14.95), Brian Atkinson (5th, 9:15.01), and Will Stanford (6th, 9:15.58) helped round out arguably the deepest 3200 meter high school race in Florida state history. More to come from FSU Relays throughout the weekend. Rain storms have caused delays in the meet so far.
