Why: This race is always one of the best of the XC season, and this year will be no different. Taking place at Eagle Island State Park, home of the Nike Cross Nationals Northwest Regional later in the season, we will see some of the best teams in the region hitting the course this weekend.

On the girls side Flo50 No. 21-ranked Bozeman High School will be looking to take home and prove why they've been ranked again this year. On the individual side, 2016 top finishers Eve Jensen and Mckenna Lee will be back this yat looking for the win. Last year, Jensen finished fifth as a sophomore and will be the top returner this year. Lee was tenth last year and will be looking to chase the crown in her senior season.

The boys race is shaping up to be another good one between Timpanogos, Utah, and Springville, Utah. The two teams have had a fierce rivalry brewing all year long with Springville getting the win by a narrow margin each race. At the Pre Region 8 Meet back on August 28, Springville got the better of Timpanogos 24 to 31. One week later on September 8 at the Murray Invitational, Springville beat Timpanogos again 60 to 72. The next matchup was just this past weekend at the BYU Autumn Classic, where both teams (not racing full strength varsity guys) lost to American Fork. This weekend it will be interesting to see how things play out. If both squads run at full strength, we should see another great battle. Throw in last year's unranked NXN champions Bozeman and Flo50 No. 20 ranked Central Valley Senior High School boys into the mix and we've got one heck of a race.

On the individual side, Flo50 No.9-ranked Ryan Raff will be looking to claim his third victory of the season.
