The girls javelin has been an event that has remained steady nationally through much of the last four seasons. 

And that's likely because there's only a finite amount of statewide governing bodies that include the throw in each of their track and field competitions. 

But it's also a difficult trade to perfect, too. 

Over the last four seasons, not including 2017, less than 20 athletes have been able to top the 150-feet mark across the board nationally. 

In 2015, Connellsville (Pa.) High's Madison Wiltrout set the national record at a section qualifier for her state meet. But after an elbow injury sidelined her and impacted her junior season, the North Carolina signee is only getting back to form now as a senior. Just recently, Wiltrout posted her best throw since 2015, logging the national lead in the throw at a dual meet.
