The Scoop: Fun Times And Big Efforts At Distance Night in Palatine

2. Schwartz once again proves he's among the best

The Fort Lauderdale American Heritage (Fl.) High junior threw down a fantastic double at the District 2A-15 Championships on Thursday, winning the 100m in 10.21 seconds and the 200m in 20.66.

Schwartz came off the heels of a wind-legal 100m effort of 10.15 seconds at the Pepsi Florida Relays in March that landed him a U18 world youth record.

The time on Thursday gave him the second fastest time in the distance for a U18 athlete in the world.

To top it all off, Schwartz anchored the American Heritage 4x100m relay, helping the squad run a time of 40.69 seconds.
