The Scoop: Athletes Emerging in March, National Leaderboard Evolving

4. Juvaughn Blake nails his first career 7-foot high jump, setting himself up to challenge Vernon Turner, last year's national leader in the event

Blake, a Columbia (AL) High senior, secured his first leap over 7 feet, going 7-foot-1 at the James Clemens Invitational in Madison, Alabama, on Saturday.

As a result, he put himself in the picture for a potential national title -- this coming after he secured a season-best of 6-6.25 in 2016.
