#18 Sunset vs. #16 Jesuit girls at Oregon State Championships
No. 18 ranked Sunset High is the defending Class 6A state champion in Oregon, but No. 16 ranked Jesuit is the slight favorite this year. The two nationally ranked squads have met recently at the 6A-2 Metro League Championships (32-36 Jesuit) and the Sunset, Westview, Jesuit tri meet (28-32 Jesuit). With Ella Donaghu graduated and on to Stanford, top returner Ember Stratton of Sunset looks to continue her standout sophomore year with her first cross country state title. Donaghu set a state course meet record with her 17:26 win last year. Can Stratton break through and lead her team to repeat the win? She recently set an all-time 5K PR in 17:07.9.
