Analysis: Ember Stratton was the No. 2 freshman at NXN last year as she earned the final All-American spot with a 20th place, 17:33.4 effort at Glendoveer Golf Course. She was the young leader of a strong Sunset High School program all year that placed seventh in the team standings at NXN.
Stratton was second behind only Stanford recruit Ella Donaghu at the Border Clash and the Oregon state XC meet; she was sixth at the NXN NW Regional and third at the Woodbridge XC Classic in Calif. She picked up plenty of big time cross country meet experience last fall and with track PBs of 4:35.67 for 1500m and 9:52.60 for 3K, she looks poised for another strong season.
