Analysis: Defending Washington state cross country champion Jordan Oakes returns for her senior year looking to improve upon her 20th place finish at Foot Locker Nationals. Oakes was undefeated last fall in the regular season before placing 10th at Foot Locker West to advance to her first national cross country meet.
Oakes is a three-time state champion on the track and improved her PBs to 10:28.32 in the two mile and 4:47.96 for the mile. Perhaps most impressively, she placed fourth in the stacked 3K at USATF Junior Nationals behind only Kate Murphy, Katie Rainsberger and Destiny Collins -- three girls whose names are on the U.S. all-time list for preps.
