What would happen if each state had decided to make all-star relays? We took the top 4 400m times in each state to create all-state 4x4s. Then compiled the top 200m(FAT/wind legal), 400m, and 800m times in each state to find out which combination would make the best sprint medley relay.
In the 4x400m, Team Florida takes the crown with a time of 3:05.88, which would just miss making the 2016 NCAA final. Not only that, but the top-8 states are sub-3:10, and the top 5 would break the high school national record of 3:07.40. The national record holders from Hawthrne High School (CA) featured future Olympic 200m dash champion Mike Marsh and Henry Thomas, who later competed for UCLA.
