As we bid the seniors farewell and good luck, here is one last look down memory lane. We've listed the top 100 seniors in the distance events: 3200m, 1600m, and 800m along with the progression through their past four years in the event.
For each event the Most Improved will be awarded based on the difference from their first year and senior season bests.
Unlike most boys (click
here to see the top 100 boys progression), freshman girls, even middle school girls, can be quite competitive at the high levels. It isn't too uncommon to see girls run incredibly fast at younger ages than boys since they grow and mature at an earlier time. So looking at the freshman 3200m times for these top 100 girls, some of them were already running
sub 11 minutes, and most were at least
sub 11:30. Out of the
51 girls who have a time clocked for freshman year,
14 girls had times
under 11:00, and
37 of them had times
under 11:30!
