Ahmad, Neish Crack Top 6
Two runners from the Nutmeg State cracked the top six in the boys' Championship Mile. Staples' Zakeer Ahmad placed second in the seeded heat and third overall with a time of 4:12.53. Finishing fourth overall was Glastonbury's Randy Neish in 4:12.74. New Jersey's Tim Bason copped the tightly-contested race with a 4:11.89 clocking. A day after finishing fourth in the two mile, Coginchaug's Jessica Drop competed in the girls' Championship Mile where she placed 11th overall in a time of 4:52.99.
