Runner-up honors for Rams' 4xMile Relay
La Salle Academy wasn't able to defend its title in the girls' Championship 4xMile Relay, but the Rams got the next best thing. The Rams' quartet of Emily Kane (5:06), Grace Connolly (5:10), Karina Tavares (5:02) and Eliza Rego (5:03) combined for a time of 20:23.05 to place second overall. Cumberland was 24th overall with a time of 21:51.80. California's Great Oak won the race with a 20:10.30 clocking.
'The girls knew it was going to be a battle with Great Oaks but they were up for the challenge," La Salle assistant coach Kelly Martin said. "Karina did a great job setting up the relay and put us in position to compete for the title. The girls ran hard the entire time and it was a very exciting race up to the finish. I am extremely proud of them and am thankful for all the hard work they put in day after day."
