PA looks to dominate javelin throw

Of the 44 entries in the boys' javelin throw at NBNO, 12 hail from the Keystone State. And many of those 12 will have the opportunity to place very high in this loaded event.

Leading the way will be the AAA state champ, PA#1, and US#3 Mike Marsack of Stroudsburg. Marsack has had a monster senior season complete with a best throw of 213-7 and he'll look to add to that this weekend. AAA runner-up Andrew Manz of North Allegheny will be another one to watch. He has a season best toss of 208-7 and sits at US#6.

Bedford's August Cook (US#5) and Richland's Ethan Dabbs (US#7) probably didn't have the state meets they would have hoped for in AA, but both will be out for redemption this weekend. Laurel's Jake Wilson won that AA state crown with a big toss of 195 and Wilson will look to ride that momentum into nationals.

Cathedral Prep's Grayson Hill (PA#5), Hempfield's Hayden Fox (PA#7) and Selinsgrove's Jacob Strickler (PA#9) are also in the field.

US#1 Trenton Allen (KS), who has a best of 221-3, and US#2 Liam Christiansen (SC), who has a best of 219-2, will be the favorites in the field, but the strong PA contingent will be on the hunt for the upset.
