First Brooks PR Invitations Are Out!


Brooks professional runners Nick Symmonds and Desi Linden went to instagram this week to extend the first invitations for the Brooks PR Invitational, to be held on June 18 in Seattle, Wash.

Symmonds, a two-time Olympian and 2013 World Championships silver medalist, selected national high school record holder Drew Hunter and New Balance Nationals Indoor 800m champion Michael Slagowski.


Linden, the 2016 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials runner-up, invited three athletes: NBNI Mile runner-up Kate Murphy and the top two returners from the 2015 Brooks PR 2 Mile, Destiny Collins and Hannah DeBalsi.


Brooks Beast and former Stanford standout Jessica Tonn extended an invitation (with some help to defending Brooks PR mile champion Ella Donaghu, a Cardinal commit. The Grant High School senior has the fastest outdoor 3K time in the nation this year: 9:27.13. 

 

Fellow Brooks Beast and 1500m specialist Katie Mackey used the Rihanna-Drank song, "Work," to invite New Balance Nationals Indoor mile champion Katie Rainsberger.


Cas Loxsom invited Bellarmine Prep, Wash. senior Jack Yearian, who ran 4:10 and 8:58 as a junior.


Garrett Heath invited Isaac Cortes, who helped Great Oak High School set the national high school record in the 4x1600m last weekend.


Florida sprinter Alfreda Steele showed off her golden ticket invitation on Twitter. The Miami recruit took third in the 100m last year.
