Josiah MacInnis: World Beater

It's not often you kick down a world champion -- much less the first time you ever race that event -- but Josiah MacInnis (center, bib no. concealed) can now add that accolade to his resume. The junior from Amarillo Tascosa High School in Texas had never run an open 400m before Saturday's Great Southwest Classic, but he was placed in the fast section -- thanks likely to his U.S. No. 16 21.83 200m speed -- alongside Norman Grimes (bib no. 342), World Youth Champion for the 400m hurdles. Grimes takes off flying, but MacInnis reels him in like a pro. We'd venture to guess he's found his new event.
