12/19 Weekend In Review: One World Record, One National Record And More

Big Jumps No Fluke For Rayvon Grey

U.S. No. 1 49-1.75 Triple Jump | 23-8.75 Long Jump | Bishop Loughlin Games (NY)

While most prep track fans followed Foot Locker Nationals last weekend, Rayvon Grey lit up the indoor track circuit with an eye-opening 24-8 Long Jump mark to rank No. 3 All-Time in the state of New York. On Saturday at the Bishop Loughlin Games, Grey proved the jump was no fluke as he flung himself to another solid mark -- this time, 23-8.75.

Already an All-Time New York great, the LSU commit from Beacon High School is now eyeing a national title and national record -- but first, "I'm trying to get at least 25 [foot] range."

"Like I said to my coach, 'I'm still trying, not settling for anything.'"

He also won the triple jump in 49-1.75, a new U.S. No. 1 mark and personal best.
